Boulder Farmer's Market

Absolutely, the coldest, windiest, snowiest springs this family has seen. I must admit that this crazy Colorado weather was playing with my mind. We played all of our soccer season with hats and under armor. We have tried to be thankful for the moisture, but really, all I wanted was to slip on my sandals and forget the latitude and altitude in which we live.

Though it may be the end of MAY, this past week has given me hope.

With the big blue skies and a free saturday, we loaded the bikes and headed to my favorite town. Amid, music, dreds, hariy ladies, vagabonds, dogs, the Flat Irons and the bustling Boulder Farmers Market...... Mama was happy!

Mother's Day----Catching the Vision

Going to the theatre is my favorite date, and one that had all but become extinct through med school and residency.

Jason has never been one for surprises. I think it's because, he doesn't like to be surprised. He likes gifts cards and cash so he can pick out his own gifts. Me,..... I like to know that he has put thought into it. After 11 years of marriage, I have finally started expressing this to him and he is catching the vision. Without any hints, without fishing to see what I want....he just knew me and knew what would make me smile.

Thanks JRO!! It was perfect!

Gone!

I happened to look down, and my diamond was just gone! I searched the house, car, laundry and yard. It is just gone. It is extra sad to me, because Jason didn't have money for a diamond, so we used the one from my mom's engagement ring. I had hoped to one day replace the diamond (with a bigger one :)) and put the diamond back in my mom's ring. I am left with no heirloom and and very naked finger.

Quite Mischief and Muffins

"Where's Autumn??!!!" I yell this at least once a day. "Everyone stop what you are doing and help look!"
She sneaks around, hiding in closets and cupboards. Finding food, off-limits toys, rearranging and trying not to be seen. So it was on Sunday morning. Madeline was the one to find her first. Such an innocent look, such a mischievous girl!

These always make me miss my friend Christin, who introduced me to this gem of recipe. My kids go crazy when I make these!!! I feel the hero of the day. The best part, they are very healthy!!!

1C plain yogurt
2/3 C water
2 C. Sugar (you can cut this down)
4 eggs
15 OZ Canned pumpkin
3C Whole Wheat Flour
1/3 C all purpose flour
2 tsp baking soda
1& 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp nutmeg
1tsp cinnamon
3/4 Chocolate chips (I totally do at least a cup)

Mix wet
Mix dry
Mix wet and dry together
add chips
Bake 350 for about 18 minutes.

Enjoy!

Jaxen's Perspective

Give a boy a camera and see what he sees as picture perfect!

At the Car Wash

We decided to try clogging this year. There is a wonderful teacher in our stake, so we gave it a try. First of all, it was half the price, the recital was FREE and we knew everyone involved because they are all LDS. The older girls have taken the championships year after year, and they really rocked the house.

Madeline's dance was to CAR WASH. She was a bit disappointed in her dance after seeing he older girls saying "There's has a lot more action in it. Perhaps next year I could be in their class" (yes, she says perhaps on a regular basis....not sure where it came from, but I must say I like it) In any case, we loved it, especially seeing how much she plays to the audience.
