Camping Trip

We traveled north west, right between Granby and Grandlake for some Colorado Camping. Jaxen and Madeline discovered a love of canoeing, while Elijah discovered a talent for fishing. Jason caught a fish, we saw and moose and had a mean game of go fish. Here's a little slide show of our adventures.

Another quick visit!!!

It is crazy how people can be such a part of your everyday life that you can't imagine how you would survive without then. Then you (or they) move away and you are expected to be satisfied with phone calls and hopes of future visits.

Christin was more than a friend for me. Our kids were constantly at each other's houses, we ran and talked for miles on end and we knew we could count on each other for anything, anytime of day. We have watched each others kids grow, watched our babies turn into crazy 3 year olds, exchanged parenting and marriage advice and helped each other through some serious heartache. I really do believe that we are placed in certain places at certain times so that we can meet the people that can help us progress. In fact, I go so far to believe our close friendships here are just extensions of what was started before we came to earth. I have no doubt that we were placed together at this specific time, for specific purposes. I am so thankful for the time together and don't feel quite ready to change to a long distance friendship.

We always said that the best part of our friendship was that we were both going to move away about the same time, so no one would have to feel guilty for leaving the other. Well, we left first, but they just passed through on their way to Utah.

(I was so pleased, because for the first time, I could fit all of the kids around my table!!! A small thing, but it made me so happy.)

It seemed more sad this time. Before I was so tired, so over-worked that I couldn't experience the full weight of saying goodbye to my dear friend. Now, with no warning, it all came out.

It took me a while after they drove away to regain composure, but it felt so good to finally get it out! Good luck Maxfields!!! We miss you all so much!

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice!!!

You all knew I would go to this ultra sound, didn't you??? Anyway, we went and got some great footage of our new baby GIRL!!!! She was sucking her fingers, moving like crazy and had the hiccups for the sonogram. I cried when we got the 100% sure girl pictures. I am over the moon excited for digging out Madeline's clothes and gearing up for more hair bows and frilly panties! Here she is!

Visitors

After a month in Colorado with no Jro and missing all of our friends from St. Louis, we had quite a treat last weekend. Jason flew in and our wonderful friends, the Brimhalls stopped by on their way to Utah!!! I hadn't realized how lonely we were until the Brimhalls pulled up to our house. It was the first time I had felt totally comfortable in weeks. No awkward moments, no lulls in the conversations. Just easy chatting, out and out laughter, and happy kids with some of their best buddies over to the house.

It was only a day, but we made the most of it. We just couldn't resist taking them to Casa Bonita, Once we got there, and I saw the restaurant through their eyes, I couldn't believe how blinded I had been by the nastalgia it holds for me. It is the opposite of high class establishment, this was best demonstrated when they brought Heather her tortillas in a zip lock bag. Still, they are the kind of friends you can take to a crappy theme restaurant and they still like you (or so we hope)

At least the cliff divers and endless sopapillas never fail to impress.

Then, yet another goodbye. We love you guys!!! We would love to be your pit stop anytime!!!!
