Twelve days until induction and I'm not sure if I can make it. Waking up every morning at 5:00AM, feeling irritated with the world, and nesting to the point of insanity. I am cleaning out, decorating, organizing and rearranging my poor family to death. I just can't stop!
I find myself pulling out these little diapers and trying to imagine a bum small enough to fit inside.

I almost had a break down because we did not have car seat and stroller, so Jason finally accommodated me.

I completely pinked-out the girls' room. Everything is washed and readied.

Still, despite these new things around the house and my ridiculous belly bump, I feel totally in denial. I just can't picture myself with an infant, can't comprehend the many changes ahead and have a deep sense of uncertainty. My emotions are on the surface and my fragility feels totally exposed. The truth is that I have a really hard time with being out of control, especially with so many on lookers. I feel like I just want to hide in my house, figure this all out, and then go back to the world. Receiving help stresses me out, giving over the running of my house and family does not sound like a vacation, it sounds like torture!
In the past, I have snapped out of this pre-delivery psychosis immediately after I have the baby. I hope for the same, if not for me, then for my patient husband who seems lost trying to maneuver through my moods. It's like I know that I am being ridiculous, but my brain-mouth filter is totally gone. My insecurities translate into Jason having to listen to my ramblings all evening long.
One thing that makes this time better, is that with more kids, the time never drags. I am hanging on by a thread, but I do feel like I am hanging on.

WOW! is it that time already? How I wish you were near. Then we would take your kids and you could justifiably hide for awhile. Best of luck. Andy and I still have bouts of 2 AM madness where we are both so tired that we make no sense while we yell and chase each other around with the baby! ahhhhh, just smile, know that it's your last and while the others are in school, sleep, sleep, sleep! Missing you, HEather
It's almost over Melissa and everything will be so awesome!
You're right - you're hanging on and I am proud of you for it. It ain't easy! But wow - that bedroom is something! Looks great! A perfect little girls room. And you, my friend, are beautiful. Stop that shaking of your head, Melissa. I know that's what you are doing. Just trust me, o.k. :) I miss you so much. You are on the home stretch. I am anxiously awaiting the happy news!
I'm glad you're hanging on :) Thanks for still teaching weight lifting :) I'm so strong I broke the handle off my refrigerator while opening it today :) THAT'S STRONG!
You look amazing. I am so so so so excited for you. It is so close and you will be so happy, I can't wait for you to have a baby and not be pregnant, it is seriously the best feeling ever. (Though it gets substantially better when your boobs are no longer shower screamingly raw).
Okay, so I just sent you an email about the BP DVD's. Again, sorry I kept them so long! About the Wasatch Relay, I am absolutely up for ANYTHING!! I am considering doing a sprint triathalon this spring if I can borrow a bike from someone (I am not much of a swimmer or a biker but I want to shake it up). Anyway, that would be SO fun to hook up. Look, now you got my hopes up!!
I think having family take over the management of my household is torture, too!! Pregnancy incapacitates my brain-mouth filter. I have major nesting spasms. When I'm pregnant, all I ever want is to NOT be pregnant.
Oh, but the bliss that awaits: seriously--the fourth baby is the cherry on top!!!
Hang in there Melissa! The nursery is adorable! We love you guys! :)
Ummm...just looking at that geeeeeooooorgeous picture of you and noticed...ARE YOU A FANCY DOCTOR'S WIFE WITH YOUR NAILS DONE???????? Way to go Melis! You have really moved up in the world from the days at Roman Gardens.
Just thinking of you - you're almost there!! Can't wait to hear about your new baby girl!
